I’m really excited to post the first of a two part photo shoot shot in Lijiang during the Moon Festival a few weeks ago in China.  The setting couldn’t be more magical for the sweatshirt inspired fashions of Injury , an independent Australian fashion brand.  Hope you like it!

There’s something liberating about wearing a kilt… I might never wear pants again!

Last week I had the chance to visit the 3rd edition of The Hub, Asia’s leading fashion trade show in Hong Kong.  As I walked around the halls, I instantly recognized images and videos of the now infamous Daredevil Daniel Lau… you know, the one who took “the world’s most dangerous selfie”!  Well, he was wearing a pair of Dienastie sunglasses and they were at The Hub presenting their fun eyewear collection.

Swedish designer Jesper Lindquist and Erik Tillkvist founded Dienastie eyewear back in 2011 with a simple concept, classic sunglasses with an edge.  Their motto is “Play Hard, Die Nastie” and they design for men (and women) who live fully and are prepared to die at any time.  Well, that may be a bit too extreme for my lifestyle, but one thing’s for sure… these sunglasses are awesome.  So if you’re in the mood to be daring or just look stylish, check out their online store and get a pair for yourself…or two!

If you haven’t seen the selfie video by Daniel Lau, check it out below:

September for me is a transition month.  It’s the start of the Fall season, exciting new fashions hit the shops and by the end of the month I’ll be one year older.  Can’t wait to see what’s in store!

The new cover of Men’s Uno International magazine features French model Arthur Gosse in a fairy tale editorial titled “A Lonely Little Prince”.  I really like the whimsical story shot by photographer Nicolas Valois featuring key looks from the Fall 2014 collections.

Fresh Brands: Le Slip Francais

Every great outfit has to have a good foundation…  so before you get dressed; it’s fundamental to have the proper underwear.  For me, when selecting a pair of briefs, it comes down to fit and fabric and any other details are just an added bonus.  I was thrilled when I found out that Le Slip Français opened up a shop at PMQ in Hong Kong.

Le Slip Français is a French brand, created by Guillaume Gibault, which specializes in men’s underwear.  Fusing French manufacturing with a modern twist, each item is 100% made in France… including the fabrics, packaging and construction!  If you think that’s impressive, wait till you try on one of their underwear.

The low-rise fitted briefs are perfect for wearing skinny jeans and sit nicely on the hips.  I’m more of a classic fit myself, but their low-rise boxer briefs are very comfortable, giving a bit more coverage without the thighs riding up.  They also offer a classic boxer short, ideal for lounging around at home.  Besides making nice underwear, Le Slip Français knows how to have a little fun with practicality; like their “Scented Briefs”, a technological underwear with microcapsules of fragrance integrated within the fabric that keeps you smelling fresh as you wear them.

Make sure to check out their shop at PMQ or visit Kapok’s Sun Street store for a limited edition capsule collection only available at Kapok.

Just ‘cause you’re no longer a high schooler doesn’t mean you can’t get into the back to school spirit and update your backpack for the Fall season.  Backpacks are super convenient for the man about town, leaving both hands free to multitask on your morning commute, perfect for carrying your gym gear and may come in handy as an overnight bag.

This season it seems like every major fashion brand has their must-have backpack… these are my favorites!

Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Eau Fraiche

SPICE-POST Spicebomb-Eau-Fraiche

When you live in a city where the average humidity is over 80%, wearing a strong fragrance can be slightly overwhelming.  That’s why I prefer to wear “summer fragrances” or lighter colognes all year round, especially during the day.

Viktor & Rolf Spicebomb Eau Fraîche is a lighter new version of the original Spricebomb scent.  It has the same intense smell of grapefruit, pepper and tobacco, but it is lighter and more refreshing with a nice touch of lavender.  It leaves a clean impression, perfect for the muggy heat.

H-WONG-TITLE HW-1 HW-1a HW-2a HW-2b HW-3It’s great to see non-profit social enterprises work to promote and showcase Hong Kong’s local creative talents.  The Former Hollywood Road Police Married Quarters is now the home to PMQ, Hong Kong’s new design hub that’s conveniently located on Aberdeen Street.

On my last trip to PMQ, I checked out Harrison Wong’s first menswear retail shop on the second floor at the Staunton Building.  Before launching his own fashion brand, Wong had won the Hong Kong Young Designers Contest in 1996 and received a Fashion Masters Degree from London’s College of Fashion.

Harrison Wong offers contemporary apparel and accessories for the urban male.  He makes everyday styles with an edge, but keeps it nice and clean.  Here are a few pictures from his Spring 2014 look book.  Can’t wait to see his next collection!
